The first problem
Every conversation carries more than its words. Tone. Stakes. What was meant. What the speaker hoped the other would understand.
When that meaning is stripped away, the message arrives flat. Misunderstandings happen between humans. They happen at scale when AI is trained on the flattened version of us. They are the reason an AI trained on the public internet sounds the way it does.
The Humanity API is the integration layer that lets meaning travel with the message. Platforms adopt it, and their users keep speaking the way they always have. Intent stays attached. Verification
An AI agent built on aligned data can still fail at deployment. Under adversarial input. Under continuation pressure. When interacting with other agents whose behavior is unaccountable. The leaders of the major labs have begun saying out loud that there is no safe way to put autonomous agents on an enterprise network today.
AVAAS is the Alignment Verification & Assurance Standard. A way for enterprises to verify that an agent behaves the way it should before it is trusted on a network. Issued against a standard, not a service. Holistic behavioral verification, not skill-by-skill testing. The thing enterprises will eventually require, built now.
Why both
One ensures AI learns from a faithful representation of who we are. The other ensures it stays accountable to us once it is deployed. Together they are how AI stays connected to the humans whose lives it shapes.
